Define which yield you are comparing
Whole-fruit receiving, prepared-feed processing and filled-product output are different boundaries. Report each mass and elapsed run time separately. A peeled feed cannot be compared with whole-fruit input without the preparation record.
Collect the side streams
Weigh peel or trim, screen reject, separated solids, samples and drain losses. Record added water separately. For frozen or previously prepared material, include thaw liquid and earlier additions in the feed history.
Reconcile before choosing a higher recovery
Compare inlet plus additions with all collected outputs and report any unclosed balance. Assess the desired seed, peel and fibre criteria at the same time. More accepted mass is not automatically a better product.
